ICT LEVELS - Word Processing

Word Processing
Skills required to achieve Level 3
c Can change the font type, size, colour and apply styles (bold, italic, underline)
b Is able to use text editing tools to duplicate or move text
a Can change the text alignment, can name and save work in an appropriate place

Skills required to achieve Level 4
c Can insert Clip Art or WordArt and change their layout and resize them
b Can insert a picture saved on a disk, change its layout and resize it
a Is able to use the spell checker to correct mistakes and copy or move Clip Art, WordArt or picture

Skills required to achieve Level 5
c Is able to use the thesaurus to replace words with suitable synonyms find and replace words
b Can change the page size, margins and orientation of a document and apply page borders to document
a Can understand the importance of formatting a document to suit the intended audience

Skills required to achieve Level 6
c Is able to apply bullets or number a list of text and able to format text into columns
b Is able to insert tables and enter text into it
a Can explain the reasons behind choices made for improving the layout of the document

Skills required to achieve Level 7
c Is able to use basic text editing tools such as copy, paste, move, appropriately
b Is able to use basic formatting tools such as changing font styles, types, colours, sizes, aligning text and applying borders
a Can insert objects such as images, symbols, WordArt and format them to suit the purpose. Example: Wrapping, applying borders, water marks. Can insert columns and tables to a document and use the spell checker

Skills required to achieve Level 8
c Is able to insert headers and footers to a document and use mail-merge facility
b Is able to apply bullets and numbering to a list, change the line spacing and manipulate tables Example: Inserting rows and columns to a table, changing row and column size.
a Is able to apply a range of formatting tools on text and images, to make it more appropriate for its purpose
